Oct 30, 2013

Today we continued our IC3 studies learning about wireless networking and different types of networking sites. For example we talked about Skype and Google Hangout and talked about what types of digital communication sites and if they are Real time based or Delayed time based. We also had some assignments to do me and a partner had to open up Microsoft Outlook and connect our gmail account to it. We then had to send each other emails of a list of different types of ways on communicating digitally.

Another one of our assignments was we had to write up two different types of chat programs and this is what I came up with:

Skype is almost perfect for this because of it working on your computer desktop, laptop, and portable device. Skype allows you to share your screen with multiple amount of people within one Skype call. It also allows you to start a group chat with an unlimited amount of people. Skype is easy to use on your portable devices because most of them these days have apps so you can use it in a different format on your phone instead of using a computer.

Google Hangout would be the most perfect program for this because it can do everything that Skype can do and as well more. Video group chat with more than 2 people does not cost money it is completely free! You can also start a collaborative docx with it which allows you to work on the same document with the people within your call.

At the end of the day we had to get into 2 groups and set up a plan on how to connect 8 computers together with a wireless network and connect them all together and then being able to run Risk II on it through a multiplayer game.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

Sincerely,

Brandon.F
